They haven’t stopped me walking unarmoured through “Da Hood” of Hampshire where gun crime must run amok. They haven’t encouraged me to spend the rest of my life in a swimming pool, away from the danger of fire (the odds of drowning are 1 in 8942, however in the previous scenario, I imagine the odds would be amended a little). I also found myself reconsidering my weekly Lotto purchase, as I am now aware that I am 70 times more likely to be killed in an asteroid impact.

So, my chance of going under the knife are better than my chances of surviving the next 12 months if I did nothing different!

But why even risk that seemingly less scary 0.06% chance? Well, that leads me back to the first statistics I found. What makes the risk acceptable to me is simply this: The average western citizen has a 1 in 5 chance of dying of heart disease. We can all pretty much work out that the 80% that miss the knock-knock-thud of heart disease don’t eat the way I do (or “did”) or weigh as much as I do (…on the way to “did”).

What makes it worth the risk is that, having seen my father die at 49 from heart disease, I want to be given the chance to be in that 80% that avoid heart disease. I want to live beyond my 40s and see my grand children.

I have tried for twenty years to do it alone – and I think it’s time I took a deep breath, admitted I can’t do it solo and cross “Da Hood”…in my car…with a lighted candle (perhaps even stopping off at the swimming pool on the way). I think it’s time I asked for help.

If we follow His Word we will renew, rejuvenate and even recreate ourselves to be what we are intended to be. We know we need to eat more fruit and vegetables that will heal our bodies, our minds and our spirits. So my goal is to take a holistic healthy look at Genesis 1 and the seven things God’s Word told us that leads to our healthy abundant lives.

“In the Beginning God Created the heavens and the Earth.” First we recognize the Earth. The Land which at this point is covered with Water and the creating “Spirit of The Lord”.

…Then God said, “Let there be Light”. This light represents life giving light necessary for our physical, mental and spiritual growth. There is no growth without light.

…And God called the expanse “Sky.” This represents Air. The sky or air is full of all types of gases like oxygen (what we need) and carbon (what plants need) as well as many other gases.

…And God said, “Let the Water under the Sky be gather in one place, and let the dry ground appear.” (watered ground. fertile land.)

…Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation…”. (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans and herbs)

…God made two lights in the expanse of the sky. (sun and moon = day and night = TIME)

…Then God created fish and birds.

…Then God created animals.

…Then God said “and all the that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Now that I have paraphrased the main points of the first chapter of the bible let me make sense of it.

* 7. Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains, Nuts and Beans are the things that God gave us as food. This is what God’s intentions are for our life. If we then choose to eat meat let it be lean meat from animals the are vegetarians as God created.

If you have attempted this route before but have had a negative experience do not despair. It may well be because you just did not hit it off with your personal trainer. I have been using a personal trainer for the last five months and only plumped for him after trying out four others first.

My personal trainer is very good for me. He keeps me on my toes, is very good at making me continue to work hard when all I want to do is quit. He is also very fair and seems to understand how far to push me. Together we have worked out and agreed a program which includes various goals for the future. He seems to also understand about the types of food which I should and should not be eating. I am happily still able to eat a lot of foods which I like and he has also introduced me to a number of other ideas which are healthy but also very tasty.

Hiring a personal trainer was the best thing I have ever done with regards to losing weight and I would recommend it to other people. I have now lost the beer belly and still continue working hard, it is now more as a fitness thing rather than to lose even more weight.lose cellulite

The 2nd secret to eternal fat loss and fitness is: Exercise less, but with more intensity. Now, not many people have probably told you to train less, right? Well, what I’m getting at here is that most people are exercising far too much, but with not enough intensity.

You see, whereas some of the top minds in fitness are starting to realize that intensity is the fastest ticket to fat loss and lifelong health and fitness, nearly all are still recommending long, boring cardio workouts as the primary form of exercise for burning fat. And this is actually sad because while this type of exercise certainly can burn fat, it is far from the most effective of methods available.

There are some reasons for this, but mainly it has to do with the fact that this type of exercise primarily burns fat while you’re tranning…while this may sound good at first, it’s actually bad news. This can cause your body to start saving a reserve amount of fat to have accessible for your next long cardio session. You see, when you exercise like this exclusively, your body wants to hold on to your fat just so it can be burned throughout the next time you exercise.

So if you want to burn more fat, you’ll have to do more and more of it. Even if this type of fast diet work out worked really well, anyone who has experienced week after week of hour long cardio sessions done 4 or more times per week understands that this is far from exciting or enjoyable.
